About Us

Hi, I'm Holly, the owner of Laura’s Bakery — a small, woman-owned and queer-owned bakery created in honor of my grandmother, Laura.

Growing up, my grandmother was one of the most important people in my life. Some of my earliest memories are of visiting her apartment, where she’d make me homemade soup just because she knew it was my favorite. We’d spend hours together in the kitchen making ice cream and other goodies from scratch.

As she got older, she came to live with my family. Our house was always filled with the incredible smells of something cooking or baking — a pot of sauce simmering on the stove, pastries rising in the oven, or a batch of homemade candy cooling on the counter. She had a magical way of turning the simplest ingredients into something extraordinary.

Everything she made was crafted with love, from scratch, and always with others in mind. Her food wasn’t just nourishment — it was a way of taking care of the people she loved.

When my grandmother passed away in 2018, she left behind a beautiful legacy — and a treasure trove of cookbooks, recipes, and baking supplies. Many of the tools and inspirations I use today in this bakery came from her kitchen. My Grandmother Laura was one of my favorite people to ever walk this earth, and this bakery is my way of continuing the love she shared so generously — through food.

While my grandmother wasn’t vegan or gluten-free, my mission is to make food that brings joy and comfort to everyone, especially those who often feel left out because of dietary restrictions. Like her, I want to make sure everyone has a seat at the table and something delicious to eat.

Laura's Bakery exists because of my grandmother’s love — and I hope you can taste a little of that love in every bite.

With Love,

-Holly :)
